Clarkson School Ambassadors

The culture of the Clarkson School Program is characterized by a strong sense of community in which every student plays a critical role. The Clarkson School Ambassador program was developed to introduce you to some of our alumni and current students. Our Ambassadors each year share their perspectives regarding admission, classes, faculty, and life as a Clarkson School student.

Below is a brief biography, including the educational background of our most recent Class of 2012 Ambassadors who will complete our program in May 2012.

Career Goals: I am still figuring out my exact goals.  The Clarkson School is giving me the opportunity to explore career options in the fields I'm interested in: psychology, neuroscience and spanish.

Why I chose TCS: I saw the Clarkson School as a place to challenge myself academically as well as have the structure and guidance to learn how to navigate college, especially having grown up home schooled.  I have the help and support to explore different fields which I find interesting as well as the skills I need to excel.

Pursuing a Major In: Aeronautical Engineering Degree.

Career Goals: I plan to become an Air Force Officer, and am currently in the AFROTC program at Clarkson.

Why I chose TCS:  It gave me the opportunity to do more than simply get by at my high school. I wanted to be challenged with a full load of college classes. I also liked the idea of experiencing the college living environment and being more independent. My high school didn't offer the courses I was interested in taking, and the year would have been filled with boring classes. I saw my brother go through a senior year like this, and it caused him to lose interest in school and have a hard time succeeding once he got to college. I wanted to experience college now, and stop wasting time in high school.
