Our MBA Leadership Development and Orientation week is an exciting introduction to our MBA program and the Clarkson community, featuring the neccessary administrative items needed for beginning the program, skill building workshops, and an immediate immersion into the functional areas of business of your MBA coursework, through an interactive Leadership Development simulation. Beginning on Monday, August 16th, and ending with a daylong Problem Solving and Teamwork Challenge Day, you will experience a very busy but enriching week.
The MBA weeklong orientation is designed to help you learn about important resources that will enhance your MBA experience. At orientation you will meet fellow classmates, faculty and staff, and other important people on campus. This experience opens a life changing portal that helps you develop a strong personal brand for you to use in the real world of business. The week's orienation events include team-building exercises, and presentations from the President, Dean, Career Center, faculty, and academic administrators. There will also be workshops introducing the technology you will use at Clarkson, and many sessions providing the opportunity for you to socialize with other new students.
New to the agenda this year is a Leadership Development simulation, administered by Consumer and Organizational Studies Professor, Dr. Stephen Sauer. This is an intensive, two-day business simulation to uncover students' skills and to help them practice working as a team. Topics covered in the simulation will focus on aspects of interpersonal behavior, including leadership, teamwork, conflict management, and power and influence.
Orientation is also designed to help you develop a career strategy. To further maximize your MBA experience, we want to help you assess your strengths and weakness and target your professional talents. Fulltime and part-time students alike benefit from this resource by outlining a roadmap to reach their personal career goals.
Please see our important forms and information on the right. We look forward to seeing you soon and have a wonderful summer.
